Funding Opportunity for Community Projects in the district

We’re inviting community groups and local organisations to submit an Expression of Interest for small grants to support projects that help make our District more inclusive, accessible, and connected.

We’re particularly interested in projects that support one or more of the following priorities:

  • Engaging children and young people – helping them feel involved, able to access services, and empowered to influence change.
  • Reducing digital exclusion – supporting residents who don’t have access to digital devices, or who may struggle to use them confidently.
  • Improving accessible communication – ensuring information shared across the district can be understood and accessed by all communities.
  • Building an Age Friendly District – creating opportunities for older residents to have a voice and take part in local services.

We are also looking for organisations that can deliver awareness sessions for customer facing staff, including:

  • Effective communication with people with learning disabilities
  • Dementia awareness
  • Deaf awareness
  • Vision loss awareness
  • Effective communication with people for whom English is not their first language

Grants of up to £2,000 are available for projects
If you have an idea you’d like us to consider, please complete this short Expression of Interest form  by Thursday 12 March.

If your idea is taken forward, you will be required to complete a full application form and provide the required governance documents and policies before any funding can be released.

For an informal chat, please email or call Peggy Sharp, Equality and Grants Officer vcsgrants@stalbans.gov.uk or 01727819340.
